Student Worker Positions
The School of Music regularly has student worker and graduate student assistant positions available that include collaborative piano responsibilities. If you are interested in one of these opportunities, please email som@liberty.edu and request further information.
Freelance Pianist List
The School of Music provides a list of qualified pianists who are available for student curricular needs. Vocal and instrumental students are responsible for hiring a pianist for their lessons and performances. Please see the above “Guidelines for Vocalists and Instrumentalists” and “Inquiry Email” before contacting the freelance pianists listed below.
Audition for the Freelance Pianist List
The School of Music encourages reliable student pianists with an interest in collaboration to audition for the Freelance Pianist List.
Auditions for the Freelance Pianist List take place with the School of Music Staff Pianist during the first and second weeks of each semester. The audition includes the following items:
- Two Pieces: Prepare and perform two contrasting collaborative works (classical art song, aria, music theater song, instrumental sonata, concerto accompaniment, etc.) of your choice.
- History: Provide a brief written or oral history outlining your previous collaborative history in classical, worship, and commercial settings, if applicable. Previous collaborative experience is not required.
- Sight-reading: Sight-read excerpts from collaborative standards. Excerpts will be provided.

Collaborative Pianist Request Form
Students pursuing a B.M. Performance, B.M. Music Education, or M.M. Performance degree may request a staff or graduate student assistant pianist for degree recitals. To request this service, please submit the Staff Pianist Request Form (Recitalists).
