Research Week: Frequently Asked Questions

Once you upload the final product, you are still allowed to make minor changes (including charts, graphs, and text). However, you may not change the template format or upload new pictures or images. If you do make any small changes, you must bring a copy of the new version with you and inform the moderator of the switch.

No, you are only required to attend the session in which you are assigned to present. However, we do encourage you to check out the other presentations and support your peers!

Unfortunately, no. Due to the high volume of students and the specific expertise of our volunteer judges, we cannot accommodate any rescheduling requests. Research Week does count as an excused absence from class if you are presenting. However, you must download a copy of the schedule and send it to your faculty instructor as proof of your scheduled presentation, and you are responsible for following up with your faculty member on all course content or in-class assignments that you have missed.

Research notes are only required for Juried Art submissions.

Presentation times vary by Research Week category.

• Poster Presentations (In Person): 2-3 minutes to provide a research synopsis
• Oral Presentations (In Person and Remote): 15-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A
• Three Minute Thesis (3MT^®): 3 minutes

Juried Art Exhibition entries do not have a scheduled presentation time.
