Join Dr. Jaeshil Kim as she shares her journey as a Fulbright Scholar in Indonesia. She will explore Indonesia’s motto “Unity in Diversity” and compare it to the American understanding of diversity and unity. Through personal experiences at the Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and meaningful relationships built across cultures, Dr. Kim will discuss how genuine friendship and care can open doors to deeper connections, particularly in outreach to Muslim communities. This talk offers insights into the importance of cultural exchange, humility, and compassion in bridging differences and living out our faith in a diverse world.
Biography
Dr. Kim is a linguist who has been teaching at Liberty University since 2005. With over 20 years of experience in missions and educational development across Southeast Asia, Dr. Kim has worked extensively to support language and education initiatives in the region. Most recently, from January to July 2024, Dr. Kim served as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar in Indonesia, where she engaged in cultural and academic exchanges at the Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR).
