Student Life Team

The Student Life Product Team offers a suite of products that assist students and staff in various ways.  Ranging from fitness classes to student housing, Student Life strives to meet the many needs of students, faculty, and staff by providing custom and third-party applications.


  • Beacon
    The Beacon application is Liberty University’s centralized incident management product that handles the submission and routing of LUO/RE student complaints, student conduct reports, final grade appeals, and academic misconduct incidents.  Multiple departments use Beacon in support of these requests such as LUO and RE SAO offices, Office of Community Life and Office of Equity and Compliance. 

  • Course Registration
    This new custom application allows students to view, add to shopping cart, and register for courses for the upcoming semesters.  The course registration application is available through myLU and in ASIST and will continue to be enhanced giving students a unique course registration experience.

  • Christian Community Service (CSER)
    Three CSER custom applications are used by residential students, community service leaders and the LU Serve CSER Administrative team. 

    • CSER Student:  A customer application where residential students enroll in community service projects, submit community service hours, complete a service evaluation, and obtain a final grade from their CSER supervisors
    • CSER Supervisor:  A dashboard application made available to approved community leaders serving as CSER supervisors. These supervisors approve student volunteer requests, approve hours, provide a student evaluation and final grade
    • CSER Admin:  An administrative application serving the CSER office allowing their team to manage CSER organizations, supervisors and student’s CSER requests
  • Faculty Hierarchy
    Faculty Hierarchy is a custom application where Liberty's online, residential and LUOA faculty hierarchy is maintained.  Administrative staff, such as departmental FSCs, maintain the faculty hierarchy data for each academic department.  This faculty information is used to supporting the routing process in Beacon for complaints, grade appeals and academic misconduct incidents as well in other applications requiring faculty information.

  • Idea Incubator (Spitball)
    A custom application that allows for idea submission to specific LU teams that can be voted for popularity and commented on by the group in the specific LU population.

  • luRes
    luRes is a custom online application that allows students to select their housing options (on or off-campus), build a profile, select roommates and select a housing/dorm selection.  The Office of Residence Life uses the luRes admin application to configure housing selection options for all students as well as approve off-campus applications.

  • Memberships
    The Memberships application allows employees and student to purchase memberships to LaHaye Student Union and sign up for group fitness classes.  The LaHaye administrative team configures and manages all membership types and costs in the Memberships Admin application.
