Biography
Walt Reichard is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer and former Airline Captain who has logged over 13,500 hours of flight time earning several type ratings. In 20 years of active-duty military service, he acquired worldwide operational aviation exposure as an Aircraft Commander, Instructor Pilot, and Flight Examiner. During his 15 years of airline experience, Reichard served as an Instructor Pilot, Flight Simulator Instructor, and Check Airman responsible for training and evaluating commercial pilots in all aspects of FAR Part 121 operations.
During his tenure as an Aviation Professor in the Liberty University School of Aeronautics Professor Reichard’s professional focus has been on preparing Liberty graduates for a successful transition into the airline industry. He has been instrumental in the development and instruction of 300-400 level undergraduate aviation curricula. Professor Reichard was the original architect for the design and implementation of the Advanced Jet Training Program and secured several airline hiring agreements for Liberty graduates.
More importantly, Professor Reichard is passionate about pouring into the lives of students and developing Christian professional aviators. He strongly embraces Dr. Falwell’s vision of “Training Champions for Christ” fulfilling the mission of Liberty University by “developing Christ-centered men and women with the values, knowledge, and skills essential to impact the world.”
