There are multiple collections of print journals, magazines, and periodicals available for use in the library for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

Collection Use

Recent issues of many popular magazines and several more academic periodicals can be found in the Reading Room. Other periodicals are located in the Automated Storage and Retrieval System. You may request items not located in the Reading Room through the JFL Catalog or visit the Customer Service Center for additional assistance.

Periodical shelves in the Reading Room are arranged alphabetically by title. To be shelved "alphabetically by title" means that the article "the" is not used when it is the first word in the title. For example: "The Monist" is shelved as "Monist"

Check-out Policy

Only Liberty faculty and staff are allowed to check out periodicals. Please see library staff for assistance.

Request New Title for Collection

Liberty University faculty and the library’s Collection Management department determine the value of adding a title to the periodicals collection. Requests may be submitted to the Head of Collection Management.
