Eligibility Requirements

Liberty University undergraduate and graduate students can participate with the approval of a faculty sponsor, which is required. You will select your faculty sponsor when submitting your proposal, and that sponsor must approve your submission before it is reviewed for inclusion in Research Week.

Research Categories

As noted below, researchers may compete in one or more research categories that are either in-person or remote. Poster and oral presentations are required to select the appropriate subtype when submitting their proposal.

Click on the links below to learn more about that category and its specific requirements.

Residential Students

Online Students

*Online students must attend in person to participate in these categories.

Submission Requirements

Students must use this abstract template to develop a Research Week proposal that consists of a research abstract and a Christian worldview statement. Submissions have a size limit of 10MB, and the only file types that are accepted are Word or PDF.

The portal for proposal submission opens on Nov. 1, 2023, and closes on Feb. 23, 2024.

Submission Process

There are several steps in the Research Week submission process:

  1. Students submit their proposal(s) through the Research Week Submission Portal between Nov. 1, 2023, and Feb. 23, 2024. When submitting proposals, students will select the appropriate research category/subtype for their research. (If submitting more than one proposal, students must submit each proposal separately.)
  2. Students are notified of acceptance, denial, or requested revisions.
  3. Once a proposal is accepted, students must develop and submit their final products (poster, oral presentation, script/score, etc.) by March 4 (online students) or March 18 (residential students). The final product must adhere to copyright guidelines and follow best practices for using images in presentations.
