Wind Ensemble

The Liberty University Wind Ensemble is an auditioned instrumental ensemble for students who are advanced players of woodwind, brass and percussion. Repertoire includes original and transcribed advanced wind ensemble works from all eras. Wind Ensemble performs on campus and makes an extensive spring tour annually, plus enjoys recording sessions and concerts each semester.

We will be moving into the brand new School of Music Building, and a brand new band room, at the beginning of the fall semester.  You are going to love rehearsing in this state-of-the-art facility, and you will be one of the first to enjoy its spaces.

It is our great pleasure to announce that the Liberty University Wind Ensemble has just been invited to perform at the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Southern Division Conference in February, 2016!  Selections were based on submissions of ‘live concert recording auditions’ from universities across the south and eastern United States.  This event will be held in Charleston, SC.  The Liberty University Wind Ensemble will move their spring tour to this week, and perform at CBDNA near the end of tour.   From the president of CBDNA: “This invitation represents the pinnacle in terms of research and performance in our distinguished profession,” and we are honored and excited to be one of the few university wind ensembles or wind symphonies selected to perform!

The Liberty University Wind Ensemble is offered in the spring semester every year. Membership in the Wind Ensemble is by audition in November.
