Financial Planning & Support:
LU Send is committed to supporting students in every aspect of their international experience—including the financial journey that makes it possible. We recognize that planning for global travel involves more than just booking flights; it requires thoughtful budgeting, clear communication, and access to resources that help students and their families feel confident and prepared
Signature Study Abroad Programs
Students may use Liberty scholarships and federal financial aid to cover:
- Liberty University tuition
- A set program fee based on location
- LU Send Study Abroad fee
Custom Study Abroad Programs
Students may use external scholarships and federal aid. Program charges are added to the student’s Liberty account. Many partner organizations also offer additional scholarships.
Consortium Agreement
For Custom Program participants using federal aid, a Consortium Agreement is required. This form is provided by the Financial Aid Office after the Course Approval Form is finalized.
Note: Students not using financial aid do not need to complete this agreement.
Health, Safety & Risk Management
Liberty’s Global Travel Advisory Committee—made up of experts across departments—reviews all programs and destinations to ensure student safety and compliance.
Student safety is our top priority. LU Send works closely with:
- Risk Management & Emergency Services
- Liberty University Police Department (LUPD)
- Student Health Services
We monitor global events in real time and follow guidance from:
International Health & Travel Insurance
All LU Send travelers are automatically enrolled in international health and travel insurance. With coverage terms that include:
- Medical care abroad
- Emergency evacuation
- Trip interruption
- 24/7 support services
Students receive instructions on how to access care and file claims, giving families peace of mind.
Program Vetting:
Liberty University takes the health & safety of our students very seriously. We thoroughly vet all approved international partners, assuring they have the proper insurance and resources to support our students in every aspect of their international experience. We encourage students to only pick from these vetted & approved organizations/affiliates to ensure compliance with Liberty’s standards.
