Dr. Hanna Byrd currently serves as an Online Instructional Mentor and Assistant Professor of Worship in the School of Music. She has taught online classes at the university level since 2012. In addition to her teaching and mentoring roles, Dr. Byrd also serves as a subject matter expert for worship courses at Liberty. Prior to serving with the School of Music, she traveled with Sounds of Liberty, leading contemporary Christian worship music for over 300 venues in 27 states. Presently, she also serves as a worship leader for Blue Ridge Community Church in Forest, VA.
Dr. Byrd’s degrees are from Liberty University, with a B.S. Psychology, M.A. Counseling, Master’s Certificate in Global Studies, and D.W.S: Pastoral Counseling. She is a three time research award winner for her doctoral thesis on the impact of worship lyrics on spiritual edification. In November of 2020, Dr. Byrd and her husband, Jason, welcomed their first child into their family.
