Professor Godwin is a dedicated music educator whose career is defined by a fervent commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music and Worship and a Master of Arts degree in Music Education. With a rich background in worship, commercial performance, and teaching, He brings a unique blend of experience and enthusiasm to the classroom.
Since spring 2020, Professor Godwin has been instrumental in teaching music theory, musicianship, and piano. His teaching philosophy emphasizes not only musical proficiency but also a deep appreciation for the art form, encouraging students to find joy and expression through their craft.
In addition to the role of music education, Professor Godwin has an impressive track record in the world of musical theater. Having accompanied over 40 musical theater shows, he has collaborated with countless artists and productions, providing versatile and dynamic musical support that enhances the storytelling and emotional impact of each performance.
Professor Godwin’s musical journey also includes traveling extensively with renowned gospel artist Eddie James. This experience has allowed Professor Godwin to share his talents and lead worship for over 350 events on a global stage. He currently serves at West Lynchburg Baptist Church as a passionate worship leader and music director, guiding the congregation in heartfelt and inspiring worship. His leadership in this role reflects a deep commitment to both music and community, creating an environment where faith and music intersect in meaningful ways. Through teaching, performing, and leading worship, Professor Godwin continues to inspire and uplift those around them, leaving a lasting impact on the music community and beyond.
