Dr. Laurie Brooks, B.S., M.A., D.W.S.

Biography
Dr. Laurie Brooks is an accomplished vocalist, educator, worship leader, and music advocate. Dr. Brooks completed her undergraduate studies at Johnson University with a double major in Musical Arts and Biblical Studies. She holds a Master of Music Education degree and a Doctor of Worship Studies Degree from Liberty University. She began teaching high school music and established her own studio in Orlando, Florida. She serves as an instructor and Subject Matter Expert, developing the Music curriculum for Liberty University Online Academy. In addition to teaching at Liberty University, she serves on the faculty at Johnson University in Florida. Dr. Brooks has a passion for leading worship. She worked as a vocalist at The Holy Land Experience in Orlando. She has been an active worship leader, serving as a worship leader with her husband. She has served as a worship leader in various churches, including First Baptist Church Orlando and First Baptist Daytona Beach. She currently serves at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. She is passionate about training young singers to worship and pursue a strong relationship with the Lord. Her training as a Kodály music educator, along with training from the Northwest Institute of Voice contributes to providing students with proficiency and artistry to serve the Lord as a worship leader, music educator, or performing artist.
