Engineering Summer Camp
2023 Summer Camp
This summer, we hosted two back-to-back electronics basics summer camps where students learned the basics of computer programming, electronics, and product design over the course of four, half-day sessions. The morning group was for 5th through 8th graders (youth), and the afternoon group was for 9th through 12th (teen). This camp was designed for participants with little to no prior experience in computer programming or electronics.
Each session was be taught by a team of STEM educational experts from Excalibur Solutions STEM Academy. Over the course of the camp, students learned the basics of engineering design, electronics, and computer programming using the Arduino platform. Students spent a portion of their time each day going through instructional exercises and the remaining time working together to build their final project. Students completed their project using the sensors and components from their personal Arduino kit and craft supplies we provide.

Each student is expected to have their own Arduino electronics kit, which is included in the cost of registration, or may be purchased ahead of time. It is important that each student have access to the materials needed for completion of the project and can return home with their kit for continued learning.
Each session was designed so a participant may attend either session or both if desired. Discounts are available for multiple registrations and LU/LCA employees.
