Camp PossAbility
Register to Become a Volunteer
- Dates | July 28, 1 p.m. to Aug. 3, 12 p.m.
- Location | Camp PossAbility is based in Fort Wayne but has camps at Bradford Woods in Martinsville, Indiana, just south of Indianapolis.
- Cost | The only cost is $25 to register plus the cost of a background check. All meals, lodging, and 2 t-shirts are covered for the week.
Camp PossAbility needs young adults willing to serve 1:1 with our campers with disabilities during camp this year. We need to fill 8-10 male positions before camp starts. Camp PossAbility campers are 18 to 35 with physical disabilities who use wheelchairs but have a typical high school diploma. Many of our volunteers are students in medical professions. However, we look for volunteers with a wide variety of backgrounds.
No experience or medical degree is needed, and we will teach you what to do when you arrive for volunteer training. Our volunteers must be 18 and older.
We are also looking for professionals in nursing, OT, PT, and mental health counseling to serve during our camp week. Volunteers serve 1:1 as camper aides and help our campers with dressing, toileting, eating, and just having fun!
This year we are doing everything from an adapted climbing tower to adapted ballroom dancing while at camp. Each evening we will have a special event or speaker. Our featured speakers this year are Kevan Chandler from “We Carry Kevan” and Clinton Faupel from RemedyLIVE.
