Biography
Dr. Carrie Wilmouth is an Associate Professor of Psychology. Her graduate research focused on animal models of adolescent substance abuse. Prior to coming to Liberty, Dr. Wilmouth completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Kentucky where she studied experimental pharmacological interventions for methamphetamine addiction. Dr. Wilmouth undergraduate research team has focused sugar’s addiction-like qualities (e.g. tolerance and withdrawal-induced anxiety and depression). Currently, her research team is studying the cognitive effects of long-term exposure to the western diet (i.e. high fat, high sugar).
