Spanish Minor

Residential Minor in Spanish
Adding a Spanish minor to your degree program at Liberty University allows you to deepen your understanding of the Spanish language while exploring a range of cultural and linguistic topics. Offered within a biblically-based and globally-minded framework, the program provides flexibility to select courses that align with your academic interests. Course options include studies in culture, translation, linguistics, and literature. Students may also have the option to complete a study abroad program to fulfill credit requirements.
Learn from faculty members who bring diverse experience in teaching the Spanish language and engaging with Spanish-speaking cultures in a variety of contexts. Their areas of expertise include translation, interpretation, and mission work, and many are actively involved in local Spanish-speaking churches.
Gain Spanish practice through classroom instruction and opportunities around campus to practice conversational skills. Study abroad courses and all upper-level Spanish courses take place solely in Spanish, so you can expect to improve your fluency level regardless of how you fulfill your credit requirements.
*This major is open to students from all majors. Students with previous Spanish knowledge can transfer AP or CLEP credits to speed up the minor or place directly into upper-level courses. Learn more about your credit-by-exam options at Liberty or schedule a CLEP exam on campus.
