Biography

Professor Tulip joined the Liberty University faculty in 2026 after retiring from the U.S. Air Force after nearly 21 years of service. He earned his commission through Air Force ROTC at the University of Virginia. After pilot training, Professor Tulip completed multiple assignments flying the C-17 around the world. He taught undergraduate students at both the U.S. Air Force Academy and through the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Virginia, Liberty University, and James Madison University. Professor Tulip finished his military career leading aviation support professionals and providing essential air support services for two airfields. He is passionate about developing young leaders who want to serve their families and communities. Christ changed his life during college, and he has a heart for helping people at that stage of life get where they want to go. He and his wife have four wonderful children.

Certifications

Professor Tulip currently holds Federal Aviation Administration Flight Instructor, Commercial, Multi-Engine, Instrument, and Private Pilot ratings.
