Liberty University offers a wide variety of programs and specializations in residential and online formats. At Liberty, you have the unique opportunity to study with world-class faculty in a distinctively Christian environment. The Graduate School, located in Green Hall, is the administrative hub for all graduate programs at Liberty University. It assists the departments and schools of the University in the planning and maintaining of high quality master’s and doctoral degrees across the disciplines. The Graduate School at Liberty University facilitates various faculty functions, such as the Graduate Senate and the Graduate Administrative Council. It also coordinates a variety of services to students through the Graduate Writing Center, Research Ethics Office, and Graduate Student Assistantship program.

The purpose of The Graduate School at Liberty University is to guide the University’s schools and academic departments in developing and maintaining distinctively Christian and academically excellent graduate programs.

M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies

The Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at Liberty University allows students to design a graduate degree by combining two areas of study that are traditionally associated with a single discipline. Offered through The Graduate School, the online degree encourages interdisciplinary study and research from across academic fields. Designed to be a flexible graduate-level program, students will build a 31-hour degree program around topics of interest that suit their personal and career goals. 


Research Ethics Office

The Research Ethics Office is responsible for supporting and promoting high ethical standards in research across various academic disciplines.

Graduate Student Assistantship

The Graduate Student Assistantship (GSA) Program provides the opportunity for graduate students to enhance their learning by collaborating with professors, learning from their classroom experiences, and then being provided opportunities to apply what they are learning.  It is an incredible experience that not only grows the student academically and professionally, but also provides a stipend as compensation for your work and a scholarship to pay for school. 

Graduate Administrative Council

The Graduate Administrative Council (GAC) is the administrative entity tasked with overseeing, planning, developing, and coordinating all graduate programs at Liberty University. The GAC is comprised of all graduate program directors and appropriate graduate-related administrators and is chaired by the Vice-Provost for Graduate Education & Dean of The Graduate School.

Graduate Senate

The Graduate Senate consists of faculty representatives from each graduate program and the appropriate members of the administrative staff of the Graduate School. It conducts the regular faculty business of graduate studies, academic standards and curriculum, and program requirements. The Graduate Senate meets regularly and is coordinated by an executive committee
