My nursing journey began at a two-year community college in Illinois, where I first discovered the power of compassionate care. I later earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and went on to complete a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in community health. I chose this focus because of my deep love for under-resourced communities and a strong desire to serve those who are often overlooked. My heart is especially drawn to fulfilling the greatest commandment of Jesus: “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). This calling to love through action and advocacy is what fuels my passion for community health nursing. When it came time to pursue my MSN, I felt a clear calling to choose Liberty University—not only for its academic excellence, but because its mission aligned deeply with my personal values. I truly believe God led me to Liberty, where faith and learning are beautifully intertwined. The university’s Christ-centered approach to education empowered me to grow both professionally and spiritually, equipping me to serve with greater compassion, wisdom, and purpose. My commitment to nursing is deeply rooted in my Christian faith, and one of the scriptures that guides my practice is Matthew 20:28: “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” This verse reminds me daily that nursing is not just a profession – it’s a calling to serve with humility, excellence, and grace.
