The Liberty University School of Law Trial Team advanced to the semi-finals in the National Trial Competition earlier this month, a first for Liberty in that competition.
The team of Colin Campbell and John Kinney defeated Regent University in the second preliminary round, after beating the University of Maryland in the first preliminary round.
Kinney and Campbell fell to George Washington University in the semifinals.
The team of Ethan Hargraves and Kacey Martin defeated George Mason University in the first preliminary round, but were narrowly defeated by the University of Virginia in the second.
Professor Pam Bell, director of the Center for Trial Advocacy, praised the teams' performance and their representation of Liberty "with the utmost professionalism."
"They have all worked hard to hone their trial skills to a level far above most practicing attorneys," Bell said.
"As fiercely competitive as they are, they kept their eye on our ultimate goals – to serve our Lord Jesus Christ well and to advance the mission of our law school and university. They achieved those goals, and I am extremely proud of them."
