Liberty University School of Law is pleased to host a debate for the Virginia Fifth Congressional District on Tuesday, May 25, at 7:00 p.m.  The debate will be held in the law school’s Supreme Courtroom, which is an exact replica of the United States Supreme Court.

Six of the seven Republican candidates running for the Fifth Congressional District have been confirmed to participate in this final debate before the June 8th Virginia primary. The candidates participating in this debate include Ken Boyd, Ron Ferrin, Jim McKelvey, Michael McPadden, Feda Morton, and Laurence Verga. The winner of the primary will represent the Republican Party in the November 2010 election against Congressman Tom Perriello (D).

Mathew D. Staver, Dean of Liberty University School of Law and Founder/Chairman of Liberty Counsel, will moderate the debate.  Staver has argued before state and federal courts including the United States Supreme Court and is considered one of the nation’s premier constitutional lawyers.
