Professor Rena Lindevaldsen will participate in the Law Professors’ Round Table Discussion held on January 4, 2007, in Washington, D.C. The panel of law professors from schools around the country will discuss the topic of same-sex marriage litigation. The event, sponsored by Marriage Law Project (Columbus School of Law, the Catholic University of America) and Marriage and Family Law Research Project (J. Reuben Clark School of Law, Brigham Young University), will coincide with the annual meeting of the American Association of Law Schools.
The focus of the Round Table Discussion will be on State Marriage-protection Amendments (SMAs), and on religious liberty and the political/intellectual movement called homosexualism.
Before coming to Liberty University School of Law, Professor Lindevaldsen served as Senior Litigation Counsel to Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit litigation and education organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and traditional family. At Liberty Counsel, she was actively involved in efforts throughout the country to preserve traditional marriage through litigation, legislation, and constitutional amendments.
Professor Lindevaldsen’s areas of teaching include Family Law, Lawyering Skills, School Law, and Constitutional Litigation Clinic.
