Liberty University School of Law welcomes David Barton, Founder and President of WallBuiders, as the next speaker for the 2006-07 Speakers’ Forum at Liberty University School of Law. WallBuilders is a national pro-family organization which distributes historical, legal, and statistical information; and helps citizens become active in their local schools and communities. The presentation titled “Original Intent” will start at 2:15 P.M. on Wednesday, March 7, and will be the first event held in the new Supreme Courtroom at the School of Law. The law school welcomes members of the university and legal community to Speakers’ Forum events. Mr. Barton will also be speaking at the University Convocation held at the Vines Center at 10:00 A.M. which is open to the public. The title of the morning presentation is “The Christian Shaping of America – Past and Present.”
Mr. Barton serves as consultant to state and federal legislators due to his exhaustive research from original writings on the Founding Era. He was involved in the development of the History/Social Studies standards for both Texas and California students and has also participated in several cases at the Supreme Court. He speaks to hundreds of groups each year, and appears on numerous television and radio programs to communicate the truth regarding our country’s religious roots and the role individuals can play in reclaiming our spiritual heritage.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oral Roberts University and an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Pensacola Christian College. He has received several national and international awards including Who’s Who in Education and the George Washington Honor Medal. He has been given several Angel Awards, Telly Awards, and the Dove Foundation Seal of Approval because of his work in the media and education. He and his wife, Cheryl, have three grown children and reside in Aledo, Texas.
