What does law have to do with Jesus’ “Great Commission?” How can one use the business sector to spread the Gospel? What is a Christian’s duty in honoring the God-appointed government versus attempting to bring down a corrupt regime?

Those questions and more are tackled in the Spring 2014 issue of the Liberty Legal Journal, which also shines a spotlight on child abuse.

Liberty University School of Law Professor Tory Lucas takes a look at the legal definitions of gift-giving and how that applies to our understanding of God’s gift in the form of salvation through His son.

Marriage, police issues, immigration, banking, tort reform, abortion laws and gun control round out the topics covered.

Professor Basyle Tchividjian and third-year student Molly-Catherine K. Goodson delve into the subject of child abuse, highlighting survivors’ stories and the consequences of children testifying in the courtroom.

Second-year student Mia Yugo analyzes recent judicial decisions on same-sex marriage, taking a look at their reasoning and potential fallout, while Melanie Migliaccio, who graduated in May of 2014, explores Second and Third Amendment issues.

The issue was compiled by Michael Sharp (Editor-in-Chief), Molly-Catherine K. Goodson (Managing Editor), Kayla Johnson (Articles Editor), Mia Yugo (Student Works Editor) and Kayla Bramnick (Faculty Works Editor), with submissions from students, alumni and faculty.
