Today teens from across the country are gathered for TeenPact Judicial, a weeklong combination of training and competition for aspiring lawyers hosted by Liberty University School of Law, in conjunction with lawyers from Liberty Counsel. This is the fourth consecutive year at the school and the thirteenth year of the program. Like Liberty, TeenPact’s primary goal is to engage youth in the culture, training them to understand the political process, the value of liberty, the importance of Christian faith in the public sphere, and why our faith and values are worth defending.
TeenPact Judicial is an intense program, which instructs highly motivated and intelligent teenage students interested in the study of law. Near the end of the week, students will complete moot court competitions, with the final round conducted before a panel of judges in the law school’s Supreme Courtroom, which contains the nation’s only replica of the U.S. Supreme Court nine-member bench.
Students who attend will also have the opportunity to earn “The New Generation TeenPact Scholarship” to Liberty University School of Law, awarded to students who have excelled in the program as well as completed full admission standards.
Professors at the law school and constitutional attorneys with Liberty Counsel will participate in teaching throughout the week, including Foundations of Law, Property, Contracts, Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Torts, Criminal Law, and Written and Oral Advocacy. As the end of the week approaches, students will engage in a dynamic hands-on opportunity to compete and apply what they have learned during the week in the TeenPact Moot Court tournament.
