This weekend, November 9-10, Liberty University School of Law will host its largest group of undergraduate competitors for the American Collegiate Moot Court Association (ACMA) Regional Moot Court Tournament. More than 40 teams from across the country will be vying for a chance to compete at nationals to be held in January and hosted by Regent University School of Law.
“We will have 80 topnotch undergraduate students visiting Liberty for this tournament, many of whom are familiar with mooting and many pre-law students who have never stepped into a mock trial courtroom, let alone Liberty’s Supreme Courtroom,” said Joseph Wiegand, Associate Dean for Internal Affairs and Online Programs.
As in most regional tournaments, two-person teams are required to present oral arguments in three preliminary rounds; each team will represent both petitioner and respondent. The order of argument and matching teams will be determined randomly.
“This tournament marks another opportunity for Liberty Law to show its commitment in training champions for Christ in not just the academic field, but in the legal field, as well,” concluded Annette Pettyjohn, Director of Admissions for Liberty University School of Law.
