Eighteen alumni from Liberty University School of Law were sworn in as new members of the Virginia State Bar on Wednesday. The newly-admitted Virginia attorneys join 32 of their colleagues who also recently passed the bar exam in 16 other states.
The law school hosted a luncheon before the ceremony in Richmond, where students, faculty and staff, family, and friends celebrated the graduates’ accomplishment and the Lord’s faithfulness to see through to completion the work that had begun years prior.
Law school Interim Dean Rena Lindevaldsen sponsored the admission of the students, which took place before the Virginia Supreme Court justices in Richmond. She praised the new bar members and wished them well as they put their education into practice.
“I congratulate each of these graduates on their bar exam success and pray God’s guidance as they seek ways to use their legal skills in every facet of the legal profession,” she said. “We are excited to see another graduating class begin their pursuit of truth, righteousness, and justice as licensed attorneys in a legal profession that all too often has abandoned these principles.”
Liberty Law graduates from the Class of 2014 have already secured employment or appointment as a magistrate, assistant commonwealth’s attorneys, a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corp, a policy analyst, law clerks with state and federal judges, and attorneys in several different firms across the country focusing on civil litigation, criminal defense, and transactional law.
