A Liberty University School of Law alumni was recently made a partner at Roanoke law firm Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore, LLP.
Justin Lugar, who earned his Juris Doctorate from Liberty in 2008, is a trial attorney in the firm’s Criminal and Government Investigations Practice Group and recently served as a defense attorney for a former company president in a high-profile jury trial in Georgia.
With over fifty attorneys, Gentry Locke is an established firm that has been serving the community since 1923.
The firm praised Lugar's experience in representing corporations and individuals, specifically in areas of food safety, government contracting, aviation, energy, tobacco and health care, among other areas.
Lugar also previously served as an associate at WilmerHale in London, focusing on criminal investigations and international arbitration.
After receiving his law degree at Liberty, Mr. Lugar graduated with distinction from the University of London in 2009 with a LLM in Dispute and Conflict Resolution.
Interim Dean Rena Lindevaldsen congratulated Lugar on his career thus far and his promotion.
“As a member of our second graduating class, Mr. Lugar has quickly distinguished himself as a successful attorney,” Dean Lindevaldsen said. “I am excited to see how God continues to use our graduates in every facet of the profession.”
