The team of Suzanne Caruso and David Nauheim competed this weekend in the Regent University National Constitutional Law Moot Court Tournament in Virginia Beach. Liberty’s team advanced to the quarter-final round where they were eliminated by the University of Cincinnati.

Tournament rounds were evaluated based on each speaker’s oral presentation and on a written brief that was submitted and evaluated in advance. The judges evaluate the student’s knowledge of law, substance of the argument, ability to answer questions, and demeanor.

Professor Scott Thompson, Director of the Center for Lawyering Skills and moot court team coach for Liberty, was impressed with their performance: “Our team was well prepared and they handled themselves very well under some intense competition. I am very pleased with our team’s performance.”
