Anna Higgins, 2012 Liberty Law graduate, has accepted the position of Director for Human Dignity at Family Research Council* (FRC) based in Washington, D.C.
Higgins plans to “raise awareness among FRC members of issues such as the impact of abortion on women’s health and the 2010 healthcare law requirement that employers cover the cost of contraceptives.”
According to Tony Perkins, FRC president, “We are extremely pleased to welcome Anna to the FRC team. She brings experience, energy, and a deep commit-
ment to advancing both the sanctity of unborn life and the dignity of women.” In her new role, Higgins will not only be working closely with some of the FRC’s partners, but serve a key spokesperson on issue related to the pro-life agenda.
“I could not be more proud of Anna. While in law school she illustrated time and time again her
passion to be involved within the pro-life movement,” said Mathew Staver, dean of Liberty University School of Law
. “Anna is a tremendous addition to the FRC team and I know will be a key asset in the movement to protect all life. We are very proud.”
Higgins previously served as a judicial intern for Alabama Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker and was the assistant to the national field director of Concerned Women for America. She was also very active in the pro-life movement for many years, including serving as a volunteer counselor at two pregnancy resource centers.
“Since January 2011, 131 pro-life laws have been enacted at the state level, and the American people are increasingly troubled by the grim reality of ending unborn life. Anna will assist in FRC’s pro-life efforts and we look forward to partnering with her on building a comprehensive culture of life,” Perkins concluded.
