Liberty University School of Law is proud to offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, a free service that assists taxpayers in the preparation of income tax returns. The program at Liberty’s law school is staffed by volunteer law students, and each volunteer is certified by the IRS to prepare income tax returns.
The VITA program will be held at the School of Law from January 28 through February 7. The program’s hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM-9:00 PM, with hours on Saturdays from 12:00 PM-4:00 PM. The program is not available on Sunday. No appointment is needed during these hours; however a limited number of appointments are available outside these hours upon request.
The VITA program is available to low- and middle-income taxpayers, generally defined as taxpayers earning $42,000 or less per year. For more information on the VITA program, visit the IRS website at www.irs.gov.
Appointments and directions are given by calling 434-592-5300.
