On Friday, February 19, the Federalist Society at Liberty University School of Law hosted a panel discussion titled “Health Care Reform: A Diagnosis.” The panel addressed nationalized medicine’s side effects on creativity, freedom, and incentives for development.
Speakers included: Professor Phillip Kline of Liberty University School of Law and former Kansas Attorney General; Doug Bandow, Senior Fellow of the Cato Institute; Dr. Deborah Honeycutt of Liberty University School of Law and Medical Director of Clayton State University Health Clinic; Dr. Thomas W. Eppes of Central Virginia Family Physicians and President of the Medical Society of Virginia; and James Lansberry, Vice President and Public Policy Director of Samaritan Ministries International.
The Federalist Society at Liberty University School of Law consists of conservative law students interested in the current state of the legal order. The Society was founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be. The Society seeks both to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application through its activities.
