Liberty University School of Law congratulates Mr. Timothy Todd (Class of 2011) and Ms. Hannah Reichel (Class of 2011) for placing second place in the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law’s first Legal Ethics and Professionalism Moot Court Competition. The competition was held this past Friday and Saturday, November 12-13, 2010, in Macon, Georgia.
“Over sixteen teams from around the nation competed this past weekend and Liberty’s presence was noticeably impressive. The quality of Liberty’s Moot Court program has quickly become one of the best, and the depth of talent from our students make the law school very proud,” said Mathew Staver, Dean of Liberty University School of Law.
In addition to the strong finish by Todd and Reichel, the Liberty team of Mr. Spencer Drake (Class of 2011) and Ms. Jennifer Stevens (Class of 2011) also earned a place in the semi-final round (the final four). “Our teams performed excellently throughout the tournament. Having two teams make it to the final four of the tournament was truly outstanding,” added Scott Thompson, Director of the Center for Lawyering Skills and Associate Professor of Law at Liberty University School of Law. “All four of our competitors held up under some of the most severe questioning from the bench that I have ever witnessed. We received numerous comments and compliments from the schools that we competed against thus making our experience truly rewarding.”
