Liberty University School of Law welcomes G. Michael Pace, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Virginia Bar Association, as the next speaker for the 2006-07 Speakers’ Forum. Mr. Pace also currently serves as Managing Partner of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore, LLP, in Roanoke, Virginia. The presentation will start at 3:30 P.M. on Monday, November 13, and will be held in the Student Services Center at the law school. The law school welcomes members of the university and legal community to Speakers’ Forum events.
Mr. Pace has held several leadership positions in the legal community. He will start his term as President-Elect for the Virginia Bar Association in January 2007. He has earned numerous honors in the legal field and was included in The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006 in the areas of Corporate Law, M&A, Securities Law, Financial Institutions, Transactions Law, and Real Estate Law. He was voted 2004 “Gold” Best Local Lawyer by the readers of The Roanoker Magazine. His practice areas include Business, Zoning and Land Use, Banking & Finance, and Franchising.
He earned his Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampden-Sydney College. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Hampden-Sydney College and Past-President of the Hampden-Sydney College Alumni Association.
