Liberty University School of Law and Liberty Counsel, a national public interest law firm specializing in religious liberty litigation, have entered into a partnership to establish a Center for Constitutional Litigation and Policy on the law school campus.
Bruce Green, Dean of LU School of Law, states, “We are pleased with this partnership with Liberty Counsel and anticipate associations with other like-minded constitutional litigation groups toward the goal of training future civil liberties attorneys and furthering religious freedom in America.”
The Center will train law students in all aspects of constitutional litigation, with a particular emphasis on the defense of religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, and traditional family values. The Center will also offer continuing legal education training to attorneys throughout the country.
"Uniting the academic resources of Liberty University School of Law with the real life opportunities offered by Liberty Counsel in religious liberty litigation and pro-family policy will make the partnership between the two unique in America and will result in a powerful force dedicated to the mission of renewing the American legal culture," comments Mathew Staver, President and General Counsel of Liberty Counsel.
Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Liberty Counsel will establish an office in Lynchburg, Virginia, in conjunction with the Center. Students in the law school will have the rare opportunity to learn in an actual litigation context and work on real cases of significance to religious freedom in America.
