Professor Sharon Breckenridge Thomas is licensed in the state of Texas and tries to meet or exceed that state’s recommendation that all practicing attorneys give fifty hours of pro bono service each year.  The majority of Professor Thomas’ pro bono service involves the giving of advice and counsel in helping clients through the initial stages of probate, assisting clients faced with unemployment compensation issues work their way through the system for proper compensation, providing advice and counsel regarding workplace issues, and advising churches with regard to corporate governance and real estate acquisition matters.

Professor Thomas believes it is important to serve those who need legal services, but are unable to afford the legal fees.  She believes it is both humbling and rewarding to be able to serve in a pro bono capacity.
