The Liberty University School of Law Federalist Society has been nominated for an award commemorating its recent growth.
The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies named Liberty as one of eight nominees for its Samuel Adams Award for growth.
Josh Turner, president of the Liberty University School of Law chapter, said the chapter has grown over 100 percent this year, and has close to 50 registered students.
He added the society has put on seven events this year, after holding only one event last year.
The Federalist Society is comprised of conservatives and libertarians seeking to reform the legal system.
Other schools up for the same award as Liberty are Barry University, George Washington University, Harvard University, University of Michigan, University of Missouri, University of Notre Dame and University of Virginia.
Results will be announced at the society's symposium on Saturday, March 8.
