The Virginia Lieutenant Governor debate, hosted by Liberty University School of Law, was held this past Saturday, January 19. The debate was sponsored by the Lynchburg Tea Party and was held in the law school’s Supreme Courtroom.
All seven Republican candidates were present for the event:
·Jeannemarie D. Davis, former State Senator and former State House
Majority Whip
·E.W. Jackson Sr., Minister, former Attorney, Tea Party Activist, USMC Veteran,
and ’12 US Sen. Candidate
·L. Scott Lingamfelter. State Delegate and Retired Army Officer
·Steve Martin, State Senator and former State Delegate
·Pete Snyder, Venture Capitalist, Fox News Commentator, and GOP Activist
·Corey Stewart, Prince William County Council Chair, and Attorney
·Susan Stimpson, Stafford County Board Chair and GOP Activist
Shawn Akers, Dean of the Helms School of Government, moderated the debate. Akers holds a Juris Doctor degree from Regent University School of Law, a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Regent University School of Government, and a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from Northeast Louisiana University. Prior to coming to Liberty University, he practiced law as a litigation attorney in Louisiana for eight years.
Voting for Lt. Governor will be held on May 18, 2013.
The Lynchburg Tea Party is comprised of a group of concerned citizens who are not affiliated with any political party. The Party’s goal is to educate the citizens of Lynchburg and surrounding areas with matters related to the election process for the purpose of effecting change in the governance of surrounding localities, the State, and the United States of America.
