Please be aware that the landscape for AI is ever-evolving. The Data Storage and Data Classification policies, along with the Employee handbook re: Confidentiality and Quality, should be considered when meetings are transcribed and shared or other content used in or generated by AI tools. Legal has advised regarding recent Virginia guidance:  https://wrvblaw.com/overview-of-virginias-ai-executive-order, while that may not currently apply to LU, we acknowledge that it may shift in the future.

AI tools can include:

  • Generative Text: Creating text, such as summaries or content generated by tools like Copilot.
  • Video Classification: Analyzing videos to determine what is happening in them.
  • Document Processing: Automatically processing handwritten forms.
  • Semantic Segmentation: Identifying objects within an image.
  • Text Embedding: Relating the content of text geometrically to understand its context and meaning.
  • Sentiment Analysis: Determining the sentiment of text, though often superseded by generative text, it still has its uses.
  • Speech Detection, Recognition, and Transcription: Converting spoken language into text.
  • Text Classification: Categorizing text, such as identifying whether it contains personally identifiable information (PII).
