The 3 Best Steps to Prepare for a Career Fair

Do you want to know the 3 best steps to Prepare for a Career Fair at Liberty University?  We’ve put together a few quick and easy steps to help you get ready.

Step #1: Attend a Workshop

Every week, Career Services has almost 20 workshops available both on-campus and virtually! These workshops have been updated this summer with the latest industry tips and tactics to help you find your career-focused success.

To get ready for the upcoming Career Fair, we recommend getting started with the Resume 101 or Career Fair Prep workshops.  To find the next workshop that fits your schedule, click here.

Step #2: Meet with Your Career Coach

Career Coaches are your best resource to getting personalized career help.

Each coach works with you to create a customized resume, develop the perfect elevator pitch, and brainstorm the best companies you should target at the fair.

Get started today and make your personal appointment.

Step #3: Get Prepared

Make a plan that makes the difference.

Research the Companies: After meeting with your Career Coach, review the companies coming to the fair.  Look at the available positions and learn about their culture so you can tailor your elevator pitch to fit their needs.

Practice Your Elevator Pitch: Practice the elevator pitch you and your career coach developed!  Get a friend to practice with and get comfortable speaking to a person.

Come to Walk-In Hours: Have a last minute question, but don’t have an appointment? Walk-In hours are available in person at the Career Center and virtually, Monday to Friday 2-4 p.m. Check Handshake for all virtual links.

Still Haven’t registered for the Career Fair, here is the link on Handshake.

If you still haven’t registered for the Career Fair, here is the link on Handshake to RSVP where you will find even more helpful information about the upcoming career fairs. We’re excited to see you there.
