How to Claim your Handshake Account: Building the Foundations of Career Success
Handshake is the premier resource for college students to discover career opportunities, from jobs to internships to hiring events and more. After creating an account on Handshake, you’ll need to claim your account to get the most out of your Handshake experience. Follow these easy steps to claim your account and begin laying the foundations of your future success.
Claim Your Account
Once the Handshake mobile app has been downloaded, you will be asked to provide a school name. Select “Liberty University” from the drop-down list. Click on “School Login” and enter your Liberty email address for account verification.
If you are unsure of your Liberty log-in information, contact IT HelpDesk for support.
Confirm You Email
Handshake will send a confirmation email to your Liberty email address. Check your inbox for a Handshake email with a confirmation link and click that link to begin setting up your Handshake account.
Personalize Your Account
After confirming your account, Handshake will ask for your preferred profile visibility. You may choose between three options: community, employers, and private. Career Services recommends that students select community visibility to get the most out of their Handshake experience.
Next, Handshake will provide a series of questions that work to customize your account for your career goals. Take your time with these questions so that Handshake can connect you with the jobs and internships that are best for you.
