Residential Program in American Sign Language (A.A.)

Learn how to communicate effectively within the Deaf community while fostering an understanding of Deaf culture and history with an Associate of Arts in American Sign Language from Liberty University. Here, you can gain fundamental skills in American Sign Language as you work towards signing proficiency.

While this program is designed to help you communicate directly with the Deaf and hard of hearing, it can also help you discover if you want to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language and Interpreting to serve your community. Not needing to rely on an interpreter is a great benefit for:

  • Teachers
  • Healthcare Workers
  • Legal Aids
  • Social Workers
  • Tour Guides
  • Service Industry Professionals

ASL Club and Honor Society

You can also become involved in our active ASL Club and Honor Society. Here, you can participate in weekly signing socials to practice your skills and attend a Deaf church to worship and serve.

Learn from professors who are deaf or native signers and who are grounded in their Christian faith.

This degree is offered through the Department of Modern Languages.
