Ana G. Pacheco de Oliveira, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Ana Pacheco was born and raised in Uberlandia, Brazil. While earning her B.S. in Chemistry from The University of North Alabama, she was a collegiate athlete playing both NCAA Division I and II Volleyball. During her athletic career, she discovered her passion for teaching due to the various opportunities coaching middle school and high school girls. Dr. Pacheco found her passion for research while working as a Laboratory Chemist, conducting research with lithium-ion batteries. Upon returning to academia to pursue her PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Alabama, Dr. Pacheco desired to work on a project that had the potential to help others sharing God’s gifts with others. This passion led her to work on a project focused on the investigation of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and other related dementias using vibrational microscopy. Throughout her doctoral studies, she mentored several undergraduate students, combining her love for teaching and research. Now at Liberty University, Dr. Pacheco continues to pursue her passions, training future champions for Christ through both her teaching and research efforts.
