Biography

Dr. George Young is a Professor at Liberty University since 2004 and he teaches the Capstone School of Business course, Entrepreneurship and Economics courses. In 2014-2015 Dr. Young was awarded the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University, where he team-taught with Dr. Jack Allen in the Eli Broad College of Business MBA program, Marketing / Supply Chain Management courses for five years. At Michigan State University he was awarded the USDA National Needs Fellowship and the Cargill/Excel Fellowship. He also holds a Master of Science degree from Arizona State University.

Currently, his research interests are in Supply Chain Management and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). His paper was presented at the 2016 Decision Science Institute Annual Meeting, including a panel discussion that was designed to illustrate a variety of geospatial applications in current and future supply chain research topics. In 2015, his paper The influence of plural organizational forms on beliefs and outcomes related to new product adoption was published in Management Decisions 53(7). Past research interests are in Food Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility. Dr. Young is also the Enactus (Entrepreneurship Club) faculty representative on campus.
