Biography

Prior to joining Liberty University, Dr. Oderanti had over 18 years of experience teaching at different higher educational institutions across three continents including as a lecturer in Knowledge and Information Management at University of Plymouth, United Kingdom and a senior lecturer in Information Systems at the Business School, University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom.

After a PhD at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, he had a further two-year full-time research experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher in health informatics and digital inclusion with Newcastle University Business School, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. This was on a £2m project funded by Innovate UK and titled: Sustainable business models for assisted living technologies and services (health informatics) in the digital economy.

He was a co-investigator on a successful EU Erasmus Plus KA2 project (£120,000) titled “Developing online tools to foster entrepreneurship in the retail sector for young people” with Europeans Commission File number: 2014-1-ES01-KA202-004429 (August 2014-July 2016). The project had four other EU partners in the consortium which included Poloeuropa (Italy), Adapt (Romania) and Ibisconet (Spain) and was coordinated by PYMEV, Spain.

In the United Kingdom, he worked closely with leading businesses in the eHealth sector, manufacturing, retailing, the creative industries and the public sectors through research. Since ICT plays a central role for improving productivity and enabling business networking in a competitive knowledge-based economy, his educational background in both business administration and computer science allows him to combine techniques from both disciplines to obtain a comprehensive view of information systems research as practically applicable in business contexts.

His spiritual inspiration is 1 Corinthians 10:31. It says, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God”.
