Biography

Dr. Howard serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Sport Management and as the Program Director for the Coaching degree program.

She holds a B.S. in Psychology, an M.S. in Human Services, and an Ed.D. in Sport Management, with doctoral research centered on sport leadership, particularly within the coaching discipline. Her academic interests include coaching education, the integration of faith and leadership in sport, and sport ministry.

Before entering higher education, Dr. Howard played softball at Liberty University as a pitcher. Following a career-ending injury during her sophomore season, she transitioned into coaching and spent three seasons with the Lady Flames as the pitching coach. She later moved into private instruction, where she coached young pitchers and invested in their development both on and off the field.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Howard serves as a color analyst for ESPN+, providing coverage and commentary for Liberty University softball.

Dr. Howard is passionate about equipping future coaches to lead with excellence, integrity, and purpose, and she remains committed to shaping the next generation of sport leaders.
