Biography
Todd Smith served as founding Chair of the Department of Studio & Digital Arts as well as the founding Director of the Liberty University Art Museum and Permanent Art Collection. He has been involved in research and creative activities with emerging technology and new media on the local, regional, and national level.
In 2011, Smith created a sculpture for the chapel at St. Hugh’s College, Oxford University, which was blessed by Dr. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury. Recently he has presented on topics related to the intersection of faith and art at St. Hugh’s College. After many years in the field as a freelance Designer, Artist, and Researcher, Smith transitioned to education at Liberty University.
Today, Professor Smith enjoys mentoring students, conducting creative research and working in a vibrant and rapidly growing department which offers Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees both residentially and online.
