The Knesset

Visit the Knesset during one of your four days in Jerusalem with us. At the Knesset, you’ll tour the building, observe a session of the Knesset (or observe the floor of the Knesset if there is no session). You’ll also learn about the various political parties and the political process, and meet with a Knesset or Prime Minister’s office representative. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the Israeli legislative process. You also will view a video presentation that discusses the formation of Israel as an independent nation and the creation of the Basic Laws. On-site discussion will include the Israeli legislative and political process, the formation of the Basic Laws, the composition and selection of Knesset members, and the impact of U.S. foreign policy on Israel.

The Israel Supreme Court

Here, you will tour with us the Supreme Court building, learn about the Israeli judicial system from a Supreme Court official, and meet with a sitting member of the Israel Supreme Court who will take questions from students regarding the judicial system and the rule of law in Israel. The structure of the Israel judicial system as well as pending, high profile matters before the court will be examined. In class discussions that follow, our group will compare the U.S. and Israeli judicial systems.
