Biography

Nancy Kippenhan returns to the law school after teaching at the Liberty University School of Business from 2011 to 2025. In addition to teaching in residence, she served as a subject matter expert for LU Online, creating and teaching courses in business law, health care law and ethics, negotiation, and related fields; she also provided guidance and support for the faculty teaching those courses. She has also taught health care law for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and law skills for Widener University School of Law.

Prof. Kippenhan first joined Liberty Law in 2006, bringing her experience with the Governor’s Office of Chief Counsel in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she practiced commercial, employment, and administrative law in several agencies. In her final position, she served as the chief prosecutor for the Commonwealth’s professional licensing boards, including all medical and business boards, heading an office of 36 prosecutors with supporting staff. She often appeared before the Commonwealth’s appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the oldest appellate court in the nation. She has practiced in the federal courts with jurisdiction in Pennsylvania, including the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Prof. Kippenhan is currently editing the fifth edition of the Worldview Edition of Dynamic Business Law, an adapted work that integrates a Biblical worldview throughout a more traditional business law textbook. The new edition is scheduled for completion in summer 2026.
