Biography
Prof. Kontaxes began his law enforcement career in 2002 in the City of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, before taking a position with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He is a certified law enforcement officer both the Commonwealth of Virginia and State of North Carolina. After earning his J.D. from Liberty University School of Law in 2012 (class valedictorian), he has been in private practice. He has served as an SME for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services on various legal curricula, including annual legislative and appellate court legal updates, and as a classroom instructor to Virginia law enforcement academies. He remains active in designing law enforcement curriculum in both North Carolina and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Prof. Kontaxes is an avid practitioner of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and holds a brown belt under Royce Gracie.
